How do I get airport lounge access without flying business class?

Quick answer

Priority Pass or LoungeKey membership (often bundled with premium credit cards), paid day passes at the door or via apps, airline status, or a lounge-access perk on your fare. Many independent lounges sell entry for $30–60.

Credit cards: premium travel cards commonly include Priority Pass Select, Centurion lounges (Amex), Capital One or Chase lounges, or LoungeKey. This is the cheapest route for most people.

Paid entry: Plaza Premium, Aspire, Escape, Sky Lounges and many airline lounges sell day passes online or at the door. Prices are lower booked in advance.

Airline status: Star Alliance Gold, oneworld Sapphire/Emerald and SkyTeam Elite Plus give access on flights with that alliance.

Fare bundles: some premium-economy and flexible economy fares include lounge access; check the fare details.

Capacity: popular lounges turn people away at peak — have a plan B. Our lounge finder shows access methods and ratings for 50+ lounges.
